Imefy continues to advance its internationalization strategy following the award of a three-year oil transformer supply contract in Iceland, considered the largest agreement of its kind in the country to date.

In this context, the company’s facilities welcomed representatives from Iceland’s leading utility companies: RARIK, Norðurorka, HS Veitur and Orkubú Vestfjarða, strengthening the relationship between the parties following the agreement.

This contract stands out for both its volume and strategic relevance, as it marks the first time that the country’s main utilities have joined forces to centralize the supply of this key equipment for their electricity distribution networks.

A strategic agreement for Iceland’s energy system

Each of these companies plays an essential role in Iceland’s energy system:

RARIK operates as a public company responsible for a large part of electricity distribution in rural areas.

Norðurorka mainly operates in the north of the country, particularly in the Akureyri area, managing both electricity supply and other energy services.

HS Veitur operates in the southwest region, including the Reykjanes Peninsula.

Orkubú Vestfjarða is responsible for supply in the Westfjords, one of the most demanding areas in the country in terms of infrastructure.

The joint collaboration of these companies reinforces the scale of the contract and its impact on the development and modernization of Iceland’s electricity networks.

"Imefy

Technical expertise and industrial capabilities

During the visit, representatives gained first-hand insight into Imefy’s industrial capabilities, manufacturing processes and quality standards applied in the production of oil transformers.

Technical and operational aspects related to the contract were also addressed, establishing a solid working base to ensure proper execution over the coming years.

A significant step in international expansion

The award of this contract represents a significant milestone in Imefy’s international positioning, especially in Nordic markets known for high technical and operational requirements.

The trust placed by Iceland’s leading utilities reinforces recognition of the company’s reliability, quality and competitiveness.

Commitment to quality and global development

With this agreement, Imefy continues to strengthen its presence in strategic international markets, actively participating in projects linked to the development and modernization of electrical infrastructure.
